The Sacred Three
My fortress be
Encircling me,
Come and be round
My hearth, my home.
Fend Thou my kin
And every sleeping thing within
From scathe, from sin.
Thy care our peace
Through mid of night
To light's release.

Amen.
A mealtime prayer submitted by Daan van B.

May the sun bring you new energy by day.
May the moon softly restore you by night.
May the rain wash away your sorrows.
May the breeze blow new strength
Into your being.
May you walk gently through the world
And know its beauty all the days of your life.

God's blessing rest upon this house
And all who dwell within;
May all who enter, too, be blessed,
Traveler, friend, or kin.

Enrich this home with happiness,
Good fellowship and cheer.
The comfort of His presence rest
On all who sojourn here.
"A Home Blessing" -- Submitted by W Tomlinson

May God grant you always...
A sunbeam to warm you,
A moonbeam to charm you,
A sheltering angel, so nothing can harm you.

May the sound of happy music,
And the lilt of friendly laughter,
Fill your heart with gladness,
That stays forever after.

"A Wedding Prayer"
By the power that Christ brought from heaven,
May you love me.
As the sun follows its course,
May you follow me.

As light to the eye,
As bread to the hungry,
As joy to the heart,
May your presence be with me,
Oh one that I love,
'Til death comes to part us asunder.

Guiding stars above you,
Sunshine on your way,
Many friends to love you,
Joy in work and play,
Laughter to outweigh each care,
In your heart a song,
And gladness waiting everywhere
All your whole life long!

He who loses money, loses much;
He who loses a friend, loses more;
He who loses faith, loses all.

May the raindrops
Fall lightly on your brow.

May the soft winds
Freshen your spirit.

May the sunshine
Brighten your heart.

May the burdens of the day
Rest lightly upon you,
And may God enfold you
In the mantle of His love.

May I see you grey and combing your great-grandchildren's hair.

These things, I warmly wish for you-
Someone to love, some work to do,
A bit of o' sun, a bit o' cheer.
And your guardian angel always near.

May your troubles be less,
And your blessings be more.
And nothing but happiness,
Come through your door.

Thanks to Marja for sending these in.

May your neighbors respect you,
Trouble neglect you,
The angels protect you,
And Heaven accept you.

May you always have walls for the winds,
A roof for the rain, tea beside the fire,
Laughter to cheer you, those you love near you,
And all your heart might desire.

May you have love that never ends,
Lots of money, and lots of friends.
Health be yours, whatever you do,
And may God send many blessings to you!

May you always have work
for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always
a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright
on your windowpane.
May the rainbow be certain
to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend
always be near you.
And may God fill your heart
with gladness to cheer you.

May you live as long as you want,
And never want as long as you live.

May God grant you many years to live,
For sure He must be knowing.
The earth has angels all too few,
And heaven is overflowing.

Some have meat and canna eat.
And some have nay and want it.
But I have meat and I can eat,
So let the Lord be thank it.

May God be with you and bless you.
May you see your children's children.
May you be poor in misfortune, rich in blessings.
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.
An Old Wedding Blessing

Deep peace of the running wave to you.
Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the infinite peace to you.
Gaelic rune

I saw a stranger today.
I put food for him in the eating-place
And drink in the drinking-place
And music in the listening-place.

In the Holy name of the Trinity
He blessed myself and my family.

And the lark said in her warble:
Often, often, often
Goes Christ in the stranger's guise.
O, oft and oft and oft,
Goes Christ in the stranger's guise.
Celtic Rune

The Sacred Three
My fortress be
Encircling me
Come and be round
My hearth and my home.
Celtic prayer

May you live a long life
Full of gladness and health,
With a pocket full of gold
As the least of your wealth.

May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light
May good luck pursue you each morning and night

God Bless This Home
May its windows catch the sun
And its doors open wide to friends and loved ones. May each room resound with laughter.
May the walls shut out troubles
And hold in warmth and cheer.
May this home be filled with joy in the morning
And sweet dreams in the night.
May it be a home where love has come to live…. where Jesus Christ is Lord.

With faith there is love,
With love there is peace,
With peace there is blessing,
With blessing, there is God,
With God there is no need.
A German Blessing

Lord, we ask you to bless this family
With a warm place by the fire
When the world is cold,
A light in the window when the way is dark,
A welcoming smile when the road is long,
A haven of love when the day is done.
For the blessing of this home we give thanks.
A Polish blessing

Blest be that spot, where cheerful guests retire
To pause from toil, and trim their evening fire;
Blest that abode, where want and pain repair,
And every stranger finds a ready chair;
Blest be those feasts with simple plenty crowned,
Where all the ruddy family around
Laugh at the jests or pranks that never fail,
Or sigh with pity at some mournful tale;
Or press the bashful stranger to his food,
And learn the luxury of doing good.
Oliver Goldsmith, The Traveler

Bless you and yours
As well as the cottage you live in.
May the roof overhead be well thatched.
And those inside be well matched.

There is a mother's heart in the heart of God.
And 'tis His delight to break the bread of love and truth For His children.
from a Hebridean mother

Always remember to forget
The things that made you sad.
But never forget to remember
The things that made you glad.

Always remember to forget
The friends that proved untrue.
But never forget to remember
Those that have stuck by you.

Always remember to forget
The troubles that passed away.
But never forget to remember
The blessings that come each day.

Blessing for a New Home

A blessing upon your new hearth,
A blessing upon your new dwelling,
Upon your newly-kindled fire.

A blessing upon your tallest grass,

Upon your growing daughters.

A blessing upon the household's helpers,

Upon your occupation.

Before the devil knows you're dead!

Bless this house as we come & go
Bless our home as the children grow

And let thy gifts to us be blessed. Amen

Our home is just a little house --
But God knows where we live.

May your home be blessed with laughter and love,
And all the joy you're dreaming of;
May it always be filled with contentment and rest,
And may friendship be always a favorite guest.

Bless this house, O Lord we pray.
Make it safe by night and day.

Irish Wedding Blessing
You are the star of each night,
You are the brightness of every morning,
You are the story of each guest,
You are the report of every land.
No evil shall befall you, on hill nor bank,
In field or valley, on mountain or in glen.
Neither above, nor below, neither in sea,
Nor on shore, in skies above,
Nor in the depths.
You are the kernel of my heart,
You are the face of my sun,
You are the harp of my music,
You are the crown of my company.

May the friendships you make,
Be those which endure,
And all of your gray clouds
Be small ones for sure.

And trusting in Him
To Whom we all pray,
May a song fill your heart,
Every step of the way.
Grace E. Easley

May the dreams you hold dearest,
Be those which come true.
May the kindness you spread,
Keep returning to you.

Translation -->

You are blessed, Lord our G-d, the sovereign of the world, who created joy and celebration, bridegroom and bride, rejoicing, jubilation, pleasure and delight, love and brotherhood, peace and friendship. May there soon be heard, Lord our G-d, in the cities of Judea and in the streets of Jerusalem, the sound of joy and the sound of celebration, the voice of a bridegroom and the voice of a bride, the happy shouting of bridegrooms from their weddings and of young men from their feasts of song. You are blessed, Lord, who makes the bridegroom and the bride rejoice together.

<--Traditional Native American Prayer-->

O Great Spirit,
Whose voice I hear in the winds,
Whose breath gives life to all the world,
~ Hear me ~
I come before you, one of your children.

I am small and weak.
I need your strength and wisdom.
Let me walk in beauty,
And make my eyes ever behold
The red and purple sunset.
Make my hands respect the things You have made,
My ears sharp to hear Your voice.

Make me wise, so that I may know the things
You have taught my People,
The lessons You have hidden
In every leaf and rock.

I seek strength not to be superior to my brothers,
But to be able to fight my greatest enemy...

Make me ever ready to come to You,
With clean hands and straight eyes,
So when life fades as a fading sunset,
My spirit may come to you without shame.

BA Prayer for the Children
O Thou, to whom to love and be are one,
Hear my faith-cry for them who are more
Thine than mine.
Give each of them what is best for each.
I cannot tell what it is,
But Thou knowest.
I only ask Thee to love and keep them
With the loving and keeping
Thou didst show to Mary's Son and Thine.

Sunday's Child is fair of face,
Monday's Child is full of grace,
Tuesday's Child is sweet to know,
Wednesday's Child sets hearts aglow,
Thursday's Child is loving and giving,
Friday's Child makes life worth living,
And a Child that's born on the Sabbath Day,
Is fair and wise in every way.
